Pine Crest Farms has Training and Certification Program for fair and ethical employment & farming practices on farms.
The program is an industry owned social compliance training and certification program which has been designed to help growers improve their compliance with workplace laws and to demonstrate to buyers and the community that they treat workers in a fair, ethical, and responsible manner.
We work proactively and in alliance with buyers of Farm produce (retailers and wholesalers), Government Agencies, Unions, Industry experts and other stakeholders for the benefit of the Program.
Pine Crest Farms is developed and implemented by Farm peak industry body Grow com, with support from the Federal Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment, Fresh Markets Canada.
Our berries have always been non-GMO, but now Pine Crest is officially verified under the Non-GMO Project.
So, what exactly is a GMO? GMOs, or genetically modified organisms, have a genetic makeup altered in labs, and more than 80% of products on grocery store shelves have ingredients made from GMOs.
Because we farm indoors, our berries can thrive in perfectly designed environments, negating the need for genetic modifications.
With a dedication to rigor and transparency, the Butterfly Seal from the Non-GMO Project is one of the most trusted clean food labels on our market.
Qualified and stable products can bring the greatest benefits to customers. We insist on quality first and strictly control product quality in accordance with GMP requirements. We will conduct testing from raw materials to finished preparations to ensure that each batch of products is qualified.
After almost a year of research we decided to invest in a rotary milking system. Like a merry-go-round this milking system turns at a consistent rate while cows calmly walk on to be milked. Our milking team performs all steps in the milking process as the cows come to them. In our opinion, a rotary provides the optimal environment for milking and cow comfort. The cows appear to really enjoy their rides on the "Dairy-go-round"!
For over a century Pine Crest Dairy Farms has been producing milk. Although time has led us away from door to door deliveries, we remain committed to bringing quality milk to consumers and maintaining a positive relationship with our community. As farms become less prevalent people tend to lose contact with the day-to-day activities that bring food to the table. We hope to bring understanding to families everywhere so they may enjoy wholesome dairy products with confidence and come to appreciate and love agriculture as much as we do!
Pine Crest rice production is unique in its ability to supplement wildlife habitats. Winter-flooded rice fields cover vital freshwater wetland functions in the Upper Woodbridge Gulf Coast ecosystem. Pine Crest rice fields offer forage and roosting habitats for resident, wintering and migrating waterfowl and shorebirds, as well as other wetland-dependent wildlife species.
Keeping more piglets alive and healthy starts by farrowing a uniform litter size. To achieve this, you need to begin in the previous lactation of the sow by encouraging good feed intake, so at weaning the sow is in good body score condition, which is the basis for good health status and sets the stage for her next lactation. In the following we learn more about why body condition is so important for the sow, management tips to keep baby pigs alive, how to boost colostrum and how to keep pigs from nursery through weaning.
Upon first bite, you'll remember all of those sweet summer memories, where a berry was something to be shared. At Pine Crest it's a world of infinite possibilities, and a berry for every kind of taste bud. The Pine Crest Berry is like having that first bite all over again.
The Agrisure Viptera® 3110 trait stack protects the quality of grain by controlling ear feeding corn insects, reducing mycotoxin contamination by limiting ear-feeding insect damage. Ideal for areas where corn rootworm management is not a key focus. The LiberyLink® trait is resistant to the herbicide glufosinate ammonium, an alternative to glyphosate in corn, and combine high-yielding genetics with the powerful, non-selective, post emergent weed control of Liberty® herbicide for optimum yield and excellent weed control.
